This role will be remote from a home office with 50% travel. Strongly prefer someone to be based in the eastern US, such as NJ, PA, OH, MD or VA.

Strategic Areas of focus for the ABDM role: 

  • Keen sense of technical details for all aspects of Charles River Laboratories Translational Pharmacology portfolio (oncology, CNS, metabolic, respiratory, immunology) and related in vitro services to drive client success 
  • Serve as an expert consultant to your clients in helping them shape their pharmacology strategy to advance candidates quickly and successfully through selling our portfolio of services
  • Expected 50% travel to meet with clients regularly.  You will also be required to travel to conferences, symposiums and required sales meetings along with scientific co-travel visits as needed by your operational colleagues and senior leadership 
  • Adept at creating a sense of urgency in diverse customer stakeholder groups 
  • Leading with a team approach in working closely with your peers to meet and exceed your team goals 
•    Keep abreast of competitors in the marketplace  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Represent Charles River Laboratories Discovery Services portfolio to a defined territory pursuing new therapeutics in the translational pharmacology marketplace and attain sales revenue quota performance as measured by new and total business 
  • Perform business development activities, including meeting with potential customers, making capabilities presentations, negotiating contract terms, and ensuring a timely and thorough new customer process 
  • Identify, qualify, and lead the sales efforts for driving new and expanded business with territory accounts to meet and exceed sales quotas 
  • Maintain high-level contact with key accounts. Interact as necessary to address issues, gather feedback, increase awareness of and generally keep abreast of industry trends and activities 
  • Collaborate with operational and client services colleagues across the Translational Pharmacology Discovery sites to ensure timely and compelling dialogue and solution creation 
  • Develop and implement short- and long-range operating objectives, strategies and marketing plans required to meet the business' long-term growth and profitability objectives in the defined region or territory 
  • Work with marketing and operational colleagues to analyze business performance; develop and implement business strategies to respond to regional trends and/or issues 
  • Partner with scientific and operations colleagues to maintain an organizational structure to meet the needs of the territory and ensure management regarding policies and contractual commitments 
  • Manage budgets and expenses associated with territory selling efforts 
  • In partnership with scientific and operations colleagues, represent the organization to industry groups, key customers, and the public 
  • Assist in the global development of the business through due diligence on potential new business partnership opportunities, as required 
  • Collaborate with a team of Charles River Discovery BDs, Operations, and Marketing to meet and exceed your sales quotas 
  • Perform any other tasks as required
