We are seeking an experienced Animal Care Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Boston, MA. 

As the Animal Care Technician I, you will review, comprehend, and comply with all SOPs and quality assurance standards pertaining to laboratory animals for research, as well as monitor daily animal health and welfare while performing daily animal health observations.  

Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Perform animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals, which includes, but not limited to: daily water bottle/automatic water line and cage checks; provide appropriate food and water; perform cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required; record animal health concerns per SOP and/or specified protocols.  
  • Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health, and housing/isolator or support areas as required by the Institute and facility.  
  • Manages own work to ensure that agreed targets are met in a timely manner and to agreed quality standards and welfare
  • Use applicable software for the tracking of animals including census and generation of cage cards.
  • May be involved in maintaining and following breeding and weaning procedures to ensure appropriate production levels.
•    Perform daily cage wash duties and sanitation.  Follows sanitization schedules within vivarium.
