Job Summary
We are looking for a Cagewash Floater to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in Bethesda, MD on the NIH campus.
The job site for this position will vary depending on contract need. You can be assigned to 1 of 6 buildings on the campus, or 1 building in Rockville.

What you will do!
In the Cagewash Floater role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to perform general housekeeping, as well as maintain facility equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance on cagewash and autoclaves. You will also sanitize, maintain, and repair animal caging materials as needed, as well as ensure cagewash and animal holding facilities are kept in a clean and organized manner. Other tasks may include assisting with the receipt, stocking, and maintenance of supply inventories; as well as preparing and submitting required written records, charts, logs, and inventories.
This position will cross train to provide support in animal care where you will monitor daily health and welfare while performing health observations, and basic animal husbandry duties to include providing food/water, cage changes, as well as recording in health concerns. In addition, you will receive, inspect, and put away incoming animals; and may be involved in breeding and weaning procedures. This position could also involve actively interacting with customers to resolve requests, inquiries, and complaints, and to provide technical assistance.
Who are we looking for?
A candidate with a high school diploma or GED. Laboratory animal experience desired. ALAT certification achievement needed for future promotion.
The pay for this position is $16.50 USD per hour.
