What you will do!
In the Laboratory Animal Technician II role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to perform daily and weekly health observations and husbandry duties of all animals in the colony. You will maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health, census, and housing or support areas; as well as maintaining animal housing areas; and following quarantine procedures to receive, inspect, and put away incoming animals. This role is also tasked with providing prescribed treatments to study animals; performing or assisting with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species; as well as providing support to the NHP environmental enrichment and psychological well-being plan. You may be asked to operate equipment, perform general housekeeping, and stock supplies; maintain and follow breeding and weaning procedures; as well as perform minor facility repairs (including fence lines and caging).
