What you will do!
In the Laboratory Animal Technician II role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to monitor daily animal health and welfare of non-human primates while performing daily animal health observations. You will also be asked to perform animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals and environments (perform daily water bottle /automatic water line and cage/run checks; prepare and distribute daily food rations and enrichment; perform cage changing and/or cage/run cleaning as required; record animal health concerns; provide minor treatments as needed; maintain animal housing areas). This role is also asked to assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of NHP. Other duties include general housekeeping, supply stocking, and assisting in specific research protocols.

 

Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate would possess a high school diploma or GED and have a minimum of one year of related animal care and handling experience. Eligibility for the AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) level required.

 

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - 24.00 USD per hour.  Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
