Animal Care Associate (Part-time - Weekends/Holidays)Work with Purpose

We are seeking an Animal Care Associate within our Gnotobiotics department at our Wilmington, MA location.
 

This is a temporary opportunity with the potential to become a full-time Charles River Labs employee.

This is a part-time opportunity (6-8 hour shifts both Saturday/Sunday) on the weekend. 
You will be working a schedule which includes holidays (during the week) and weekends.

As an Animal Care Associate you will be responsible for the care of our small animals,  responsibilities include, feeding/watering, sanitizing primary and secondary enclosures, environmental enrichment, handling and restraint and other related tasks including assisting with the movement of animals and stocking of supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform animal husbandry which will include feeding, watering and cleaning cages.
• Implement breeding and sampling procedures to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain physical environment cleanliness, biosecurity and accurate department/animal records within the internal database system.
• Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operating equipment and supplies per safety and ergonomic guidelines.
• Complete other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate and follow direction.
• Local to the area (no relocation)

The hourly pay rate for this position is $18.50.  Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
