In the Animal Care Technician role, you can do that by providing the highest-level quality assurance and control in observing, monitoring and documenting the health and physical environment within the client’s animal facility to ensure the integrity of the research.

What you will do!
In the Animal Care Technician role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to perform daily animal health observations, as well as animal husbandry duties, to maintain quality and health of research animals. You will also need to maintain accurate records of things like animal breeding, as well as housing or support areas, and you may also be tasked with receiving, inspection, and housing of incoming animals. You may assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of animal species, and you may become involved in the breeding and weaning procedures. Other duties may include monitoring personnel and equipment entry into various rooms, as well as operating required equipment and general housekeeping, when required.


Who are we looking for?
A candidate that possesses a High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in animal or life sciences field preferred. A minimum of one year related laboratory animal experience is preferred.   An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.  AALAS certification at the ALAT level preferred.  

The pay range for this position is $22 - 24 USD per hour.  Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
