What you will do! 
In the Animal Caretaker II role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to monitor, observe, and record animal health and welfare daily, as well as complete various standard animal husbandry duties. You may also be tasked with receiving, inspecting, and putting away incoming animals; as well as maintaining animal housing areas or isolator environments. You will also be involved in the breeding and weaning program, performing various duties from weaning and sexing, to ensuring appropriate production levels are met. You will also work cooperatively with the on-site supervisor and/or facility veterinarian to assist with various animal handling needs. 

Who are we looking for? 
The ideal candidate would possess a high school diploma or GED, in addition to one or more years of related animal care and handling experience. AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level (ALAT) or above, OR successful achievement of ALAT certification within one (1) year required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. 

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - 23.00 USD per hour.  Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
