Summer Student - Maintenance Clerk

What you’ll do
As a Maintenance Clerk for our Toxicology team located in Senneville, you will be responsible for the well-being of our laboratory animals. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.
In this role, primary responsibilities include:
- Prepare and decontaminate animal rooms according to schedule
- Ensure that the required study materials are available
- Ensure adequate and accessible food and water supplies for all animals at all times
- Handle the animals for any activity that requires it
- Remove domestic and biomedical waste and dispose of in appropriate containers
- Operate the cage washer
What you’ll need
If you possess the following qualifications, we will train you in the rest:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.)
- You are able to follow precises instructions
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to work autonomously
Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.
Role Specific Information:
- Location: Senneville / Free parking / Shuttle service from Sainte-Anne-De-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site
- Salary: $17.25/hrs
- Premiums:
- Weekends : $2.75/hrs
- Overtime : Time and a half
- Holidays: Double time
- Daytime schedule from 8:00 am to 4:15 pm. Depending on the operational needs, you may have to work on weekends
- Temporary position for the summer period, full-time at 37.5hrs per week
