What you’ll do
Perform general site maintenance duties and assist trades and crafts persons. May operate machinery and equipment and use basic tools to fulfill assigned tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform basic building maintenance duties such as moving furniture and equipment, painting, removing and installing light bulbs, electrical cover plates, HVAC box covers and various wall, ceiling, and floor fasteners.
- Perform preventative maintenance on incubators, freezers, refrigerators, heating unit, vacuum hoods, and air conditioning units. May also perform corrective action and fabricate items as needed. Identify hazards, malfunctioning equipment or safety issues and notify appropriate personnel for corrective action.
- Perform general laborer duties as required. May perform janitorial duties on a non-schedule basis.
- Assist trades personnel in performing unskilled duties and repairs. Receive and distribute deliveries including supplies and equipment.
- Negotiate with laboratory supply and maintenance vendors to obtain effective pricing. Function as a liaison between company and Landlord.
- Perform all duties following prescribed safety procedures and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
- Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) preferred.
- Experience: 6 to 12 months related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
