What you’ll do
We are seeking an experienced Lead Cagewash Technician to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Bethesda, MD.
As the Lead Cagewash Technician, you will provide quality assurance and control, in addition to coordinating preventative maintenance of equipment, as well as prioritizing workload on the assigned side to ensure daily goals are met and the integrity of the research is maintained.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintains facility equipment and performs routine preventative maintenance on cagewash and autoclaves, including routine inspection of cleaning filters and roto-arms.
- Responsible for conducting trouble shooting on the equipment and reporting any problems to the Cagewash Supervisor. If necessary, communicating directly with the manufacturers on problems with the equipment.
- In the absence of the Cagewash Supervisor, is responsible for scheduling the staff, ensuring work and all related paperwork is completed.
- Sanitize, maintain, and repair animal caging materials as needed and ensure cagewash facilities are kept clean and organized
- Other tasks may include assisting with the receipt, stocking, and maintenance of supply inventories
- Prepare and submit required written records, charts, logs, and inventories.
- Assist with training and redirection of workload as necessary to ensure a cohesive team and that daily goals are met.
