What you’ll do
We are seeking a Histology Laboratory Assistant for our Safety Assessment site located in Reno, NV.
The following are responsibilities related to the Histology Laboratory Assistant:
Perform basic histology laboratory procedures. Participate in the documentation of all activities as required. Assist with and perform basic histology procedures (processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover-slipping). Receive samples, complete tracking documentation, and prepare pathology materials, and data for shipment and archiving. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
The following are minimum qualifications related to the Histology Technician 1 position:
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D) required. Associates Degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent in a biological science preferred.
Experience: Approximately 1 year of laboratory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Certification/Licensure: None.
Other: Must be able to perform effectively as a team member, accurately record data, follow verbal and written instructions, maintain a positive work atmosphere, communicate effective, and interact in a professional manner with management, coworkers, and sponsors. Experience with computer software programs is preferred.
The pay range for this position is $18.00 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
