What you’ll do
Temporary position - Student in Animal Health Technology
As a Summer Student – Surgery Clerk for our Veterinary Services team at the Senneville location, you will perform basic tasks and procedures, supporting department work within a team
In this role, primary responsibilities include:
- Safely hold and restrain animals during veterinary examination and interventions;
- Maintain the veterinary laboratory, surgical suites and support spaces;
- Keep inventory and ensure adequate supplies of materials and instruments used in surgeries, in the veterinary laboratories and in the emergency kits;
- Maintaining surgical instruments and equipment in proper working order, including the cleaning, care, and sterilization of appropriate supplies;
- Collect, document, review, and verify data on forms, or in electronic data capture systems.
What you’ll need
We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:
- Collegial student in Animal Health, Bioecology, Biotechnology or any other related field;
- B.Sc student in Biology or any other related field;
- Strong interest in surgery & animal lover;
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes and good stress management;
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork efforts and communication;
- Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).
Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.
Role Specific Information:
- Location: 22022 route Transcanadienne, Senneville, QC, H9X 1C1;
- Transportation: We offer a free shuttle service from the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station;
- Salary: $16.75/hrs;
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:15pm. Depending on the business needs, you may have to do overtime;
- Temporary position for this summer, full-time 37.5hrs per week.
