Summer Student - Cage Wash ClerkWork with Purpose

Student Position – Temporary, Full-time. No experience required.

As a summer student  as a cage wash clerk for our Toxicology  team located at the Laval  site, you will be responsible for the welfare of all our research animals. Your success will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our preclinical studies.

In this role, primary responsibilities  include:

• Wash study equipment (e.g., cages, toys, bowls) manually with a garden hose and using the industrial cage washer.
• Put away clean equipment.
• Wash study linens (e.g., cut-resistant gloves, sheets) using the industrial washer and dryer.
• Perform cleaning tasks in the vivarium (e.g., sweeping, mopping the floor with the Zamboni).
• Refill PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) stations.
• Prepare animal enrichment.

If you have the following qualifications,  we'll train you for the rest: 

• College student
• Physical work requiring lifting, carrying, and moving heavy loads, and performing most tasks while standing
• Repetitive movements
• Noise levels are usually high
• Hot and humid environment in equipment wash areas
• Presence of chemicals in the work environment
• Compliance with procedures
• Excellent teamwork skills

Please note that upon hiring you will be required to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the company's expense.
 

Role Specific Information:

• Location: 445 Boul. Armand-Frappier, Laval, QC, H7V 4B3;
• Transportation: Free parking. Near the Montmorency Subway. Electric vehicle charging station;
• Salary: $18/hr
• Schedule: 37.5-hour work week with 7.5-hour days (e.g., 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., 10 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., or 1:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.). Depending on the company's needs, you may be able to work weekend shifts
• Temporary position, full-time at 37.5 hours per week
