What you’ll do
We are looking for a Central Services Technician I (Cage Processing) to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in South San Francisco, CA.
As the Central Services Technician I (cage processing), you will provide cleaning and maintenance of laboratory animal caging, equipment and cage preparation areas as well as cleaning of animal support areas under minimal supervision.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Operate commercial tunnel and rack washers for cleaning and sanitizing animal cage supplies through automatic processes.
- Operate commercial autoclave machinery to sterilize caging equipment and instruments for the animals.
- Maintain documentation for QA including but not limited to temperature strips, room environmental reports and logs, dish washer and/or autoclaving logs.
- Handle and transfer supplies (caging, gases, dry ice, liquid nitrogen), and waste as needed to and from work area(s).
- Perform daily cage wash area duties including recycling and scheduled sanitation procedures with documentation.
- Provide cleaning and maintenance of laboratory animal caging, equipment and cage preparation areas as well as cleaning of animal support areas with supporting documentation under supervision.
- Provide quality assurance to the cagewash area.
- Ability to work in a repetitive high throughput environment.
What you’ll need
The following are the minimum requirements related to the Central Services Technician position:
- High School diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent required.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to recognize and communicate verbally and/or in writing, problems requiring the attention of high-level personnel in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Rodent husbandry experience preferred.
- ALAT certification preferred.
The pay range for this position is $21.04 - $25.20 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
