A research intern in the ion channel electrophysiology discipline is responsible to set up and run experiments in the lab using automated systems and then to work up and present the results.  The ion channel electrophysiology discipline is responsible for testing the effects of drugs on ion channel conductance according to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).  The team develops and validates methods using a variety of automated instruments and platforms.  The intern will prepare mixtures of test article with carrier and evaluate the effects on various ion channels.  In addition, the team is often involved in investigations and issues that are related to experimental performance and results.      Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
