What you’ll do
We are seeking an Animal Care Technician to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in South San Francisco, CA.
As the Animal Care Technician, you will provide the highest animal welfare standards and care, in addition to maintaining vivarium cleanliness.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Ensure high standards of animal welfare are met.
- Provide food, water and clean housing to animals according to applicable SOPs.
- Perform routine animal health observations.
- Monitor temperature and humidity, reporting any issues to supervisor or manager.
- Receive, unpack, and house animals according to SOP and Animal Receiving Form
- Understand proper room entry order and adhere to biosafety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records organize supply areas.
- Maintain vivarium cleanliness and waste removal in accordance with applicable SOPs.
What you’ll need
The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Technician position.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- BS in either animal science or life sciences preferred.
- Minimum of 0-6 months directly related laboratory animal experience in a laboratory animal facility required.
- AALAS Certification at the ALAT level preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
The pay range for this position is $23-25 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
