What you’ll do
We are seeking a Animal Care TechnicianII for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Baltimore Maryland.
The following are responsibilities related to the Animal Care Technician II:
Performs with minimal supervision in the daily operations of the animal vivarium by providing husbandry and technical support to the investigative staff.
Provides support to rodent breeding program, including setting up mating pairs, weaning, recordkeeping and performing associated technical procedures, including phenotype observations.
Monitors daily animal health and welfare while performing daily animal health observations, animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals, to include: perform daily water bottle /automatic water line and cage checks; provide appropriate food and water; perform cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required; accurately documents animal health concerns per SOP and/or specified protocols
The following are minimum qualifications related to the Animal Care Technician II position:
HS diploma or GED equivalency required with 3 years laboratory animal species (specifically rodents and primates) with related technical experience required or a AS/BS science related degree with 6 months experience.
Certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) level required. LAT within 1 year..
The pay range for this position is $20.70 per hour.
