What you’ll do
The 2025 Summer Intern Accugenix Microbiology will be expected to learn and assist the microbial database team and beyond the department to support Accugenix business and its clients. Due to the regulatory environment of our business, this internship includes understanding the importance of compliance with regulatory agencies and associated guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review the AccuPedia entries, curate them, and finalize for AccuPedia database release.
- Compile metadata for organisms that are not in the AccuPedia library.
- Participate in AccuPedia database release process.
- Assist with key department responsibilities like microbial culture collection, sub culturing microbial organisms, bioinformatics projects, and database curation
What you’ll need
- Student currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a B.A/B.S. in a scientific related discipline
- Completion of Sophomore year
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Ability to fulfill a 10-week internship
- Effective communication and listening skills in a teamwork environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with a strong attention to detail
- Computer literacy must include word processing, spreadsheet and technical writing.
The pay range for this position is $19.00-20.00 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
